There is something truly unique and special about winter weather in the southeastern United States. For some, it’s weather that seems to occur once in every blue moon – but even so, it’s a type of weather that generates interest, wonderment and excitement like no other, that can make a lasting impression.
From a child growing up in rural south Tuscaloosa to becoming a meteorologist in the big city, Wes shares his take on weather from experiences on opposite sides of the television screen. His story will inspire others and encourage those who may be second-guessing choices in life. It is a testament to the impact we can have on those around us.

Wes holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal by the American Meteorological Society as well as the Seal of Approval by the National Weather Association. With his experience and knowledge, Wes participates in evaluating meteorologists throughout the nation.
The State of Alabama legislature passed an honorary resolution in his name for his severe weather coverage in West Alabama. The Associated Press has named Wes best weather anchor in 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2015.
